Bene Vagienna is located in the province of Cuneo in the Piedmonte region of Italy. The city of Turin is about 60 kilometers away, and the town of Cuneo is just 30 kilometers away. The town was known to the Romans as Augusta Bagiennorum, and is believed to have been given this name because it was once the capital of the Bagienni tribe.
