Tourists are attracted to the area because of the wonderful beaches and lakes, as well as the cultural and historical monuments. One of the biggest tourist attractions is the town of San Giovanni Rotondo, the place where Saint Pio of Pietrelcina died. If youre in the province in the month of May, check out the town of San Severo; here, youll see an amazing two-week long religious celebration that includes amazing fireworks displays and competitions. Head to the town of Vieste to enjoy Gargano National Park. Moreover, the town was inhabited as far back as the Paleolithic and Vieste sights to see include tombs dating to the Iron Age, other ancient archaeological remains and a castle.
