If you’re looking for things to do in Bagno di Romagna, think about visiting the Parish Church, or Chiesa Parrocchiale, of San Pietro in Vinculis. If you're staying in one of the number of hotels in Bagno di Romagna, ask the front desk for the best way to reach the church. The primitive church, located at the foot of an impressive medieval castle, was originally built in the year 1220. By the end of the 1700s, it was too small to house all the faithful. Indeed, it had one nave, no choir and was structurally unsound, as was its adjacent cemetery. In 1863, the proposal was made to build a new church, but it is only completed, in its entirety, in the year 1990.

By 1907, only the anterior part of the Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Pietro in Vinculis, the central nave with incomplete lateral naves, was constructed, though the church was inaugurated. In 1933, the apse area is completed and the bell tower and cupola are added. These two structures differed from their original design due to newly created ant-seismic laws. In the years between 1959 and 1961 the upper part of the façade was completed and in 1984 and 1990, the entire façade was completed. The majestic and elegant church houses a fair number of interesting works of art. Among other things there is a tempera painting that represents the “Madonna with Child and Saints”, and terracotta crucifix that dates to the 16th century.
