To the northeast of Milan there is a large public park called the Parco Lambro, or Lambro Park. It is one of the largest parks in Milan, with over 90 hectares of green space for the Milanese to enjoy. The Lambro Park was created by an architect named Casiraghi, in 1936. His goal was to leave as much of the natural landscape in place as possible. There are also a number of ancient buildings in the park, one of which is a windmill called the Torretta, sitting on top of a small tower that was built in 1600.
