Central Railway Station Milan
When you travel to Milan by train, especially if you are traveling from another European city, you will arrive at the central railway station in Milan, Stazione Centrale di Milano. The station is also called Milano Centrale for short. As in most cities, a great many of the budget hotels in Milan are near the central railway station, and you can browse through an excellent selection on EasyToBook.com. Milano Centrale was built in 1931 because the older station was not large enough to handle the city’s growing traffic.
If you aren’t sure where it is, ask at your budget hotel in Milan near the central railway station to tell you how to locate the original cornerstone that was laid by King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1906. Unfortunately, the economic conditions in Italy during World War I delayed construction of the station. It finally opened in July, 1931, and has since been called one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world by many people, including Frank Lloyd Wright.
