Football is king in Italy, and football stadiums are where all the action happens. The AC Milan San Siro Stadium is located outside the city center in the San Siro district of Milan, to the northwest of the city center. You will be located near several metro stops, so getting to the city center for more sightseeing won’t be difficult once you’re soccer games are over.
The stadium was built in 1925, and its official name is the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, named for the famous World Cup winner of the 1930's. It is more commonly called the AC Milan San Siro Stadium because it is home to the AC Milan and FC International Milan football teams, and because San Siro indicates the stadium’s location. The stadium can hold more than 80,000 people and has occasionally been the venue for concerts as well.
