To the northwest of the center of Milan, you will find the Parco Sempione, or Sempione Park, and in the northeast corner of the park is the Arena Civica. In Milan, near the Arena Civica, visitors come in the thousands to the Fiera, or Exhibition Hall. A majority of the city’s commercial business is conducted in the Fiera.
The Arena Civica is a stadium that was built in the first years of the 19th century. This neoclassical styled structure can hold up to 30,000 people, depending on the event. Since it opened, events held at the stadium have included some unusual attractions such as naval battle re-enactments or Wild Bill’s Wild West Show. The Arena Civica is mainly used for concerts and sporting events. You can reach it easily on the Linea 2 (green line) metro.
