There are two major airports in Milan; the Malpensa Airport and the Linate Airport. The Linate is closer to Milan than the Malpensa, so Linate usually only serves short international flights or domestic flights around the country. So, if you travel to Milan from within Italy or Europe, chances are you will fly into Milan’s Linate Airport. The airport's main buildings are in Segrate, but the air fields are mostly in Peschiera Borromeo.
The airport’s proper name is actually “Airport Enrico Forlanini”. Forlanini was a famous Milanese inventor, who was considered a pioneer in the aeronautical field in his time.
