For many visitors, a trip to Naples will also involve trips to the nearby islands of Ischia and Capri. In order to get there, you’ll need to take a ferry. There are two ports in Naples, one in Mergellina, and the other in Beverello. The Molo Beverello (Beverello Pier) is the main port for ferries to and from Naples. Although you could certainly stay on one of the islands, you could also choose to stay in a hotel near the Molo Beverello in Naples in order to make day trips to the islands more convenient.
If you stay in a hotel that is not close to the Molo Beverello in Naples, you can still get there relatively easily. From the Stazione Centrale, you can take a bus from Piazza Garibaldi to the Piazza Municipio. The Molo Beverello will be to your left. If you’re not sure where to get off, ask the driver. Although it’s best to check ferry timetables before you show up, even if you don’t there will probably a ferry or hydrofoil leaving relatively soon.
