Pros: Beautiful harbour side location in an area that is quieter but well connected with the other resorts of the sorentine peninsula. as we were there the week before easter we got to experience the local easter processions which was a unique and humbling experience.we were very pleased with the price of l'approdo, especially considering the amount of space we were given (a self contained flatlet) and that breakfast was included and brought to us each morning.
the drive down to the place was very windy and hectic and the l'approdo is not far from the piano di sorrento circumvesuvia station so don't feel like a car is necessary. the car was manageable but i wouldnt dismiss staying here if you don't have a car.

Pros: The apartment was very very nice, spacious, clean and comfortable. lovely view of the sea from the balcony.
Cons: The location was difficult for anyone arriving by train. it's about 30 minutes walk from the railway station and the the last 15 minutes of that is walking down a very steep road to get to the hotel. the worst part was walking back up again which was very difficult. we asked if there was someone who could drive us to the station when we left but because we were leaving so early this couldn't be arranged. and i'm glad we arrived on sunday because on monday the restaurant where you check in is closed and there's no one there, though there are phone numbers on the door to contact the owners. i would recommend this only for those with a car. also we decided on this hotel because we thought it would be quiet rather than central sorrento, but motor bikes kept riding down the street at night and again early in the morning.
