Among pine woods, surrounded by a spa and an 18-hole golf course is the walled town of Cervia. The Cervia Cathedral is on the main Square of Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, opposite the Town Hall. Dating from 1699-1702 it features a Baroque altar from the church of San Domenico di Forli. There is also the Chiese del Suffragio from 1722. It contains a 14th century wooden cross and a noteworthy Gaetano Calido organ. There is also the Museo del Sale for those who wish to discover the historic methods and history of the region’s mainstay, salt production as well as local history.
