The town of Cadelbosco di Sopra is a village located about 70 kilometers from Bologna in the province of Reggio Emilia. It is also just 8 kilometers from the town of Reggio Emilia, the areas capital. The villages history dates back to around the year 900, when it was called Vico Zoaro. In 1215, Gherardo del Bosco owned much of the land in and around the city, and it is his name that led to the town becoming known as Cadelbosco from dialect for Castle of Bosco.The Bosco family later built the Chiesa di San Celestino, the large tower of which is a dominant feature on the Cadelbosco di Sopra skyline.
