Only 25 kilometers from Rome, Rocca Priora is known to have more than enough of the dramatic Roman Castles found around the province. Savelli Castle is one of those castles that are used by the nobles as their vacation homes. The town is also part of the Parco Regionale dei Castelli Romani. The park is perfect for anyone who wants to have that one perfect trail in the woods. This park covers at least four more towns and the trail doesn’t seem to end. You cannot cover it in just a weekend. Rocca Priora also has churches and among those you will find in the center of the town is the Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo. Built during the 15th century, the original structure is beautifully preserved.
