Adone House Rome

Saw adone house for 5 minutes, didnt like it...

There is no reception desk in entrance door and you have to go upstairs due to this hostel is in complex building, i mean there are other companies in this building.

Wireless internet was only available at the reception, you have to leave the hostel between 10.30 and 14.00 due to cleaning, breakfast wasn't included in price as stated on the website, leakage in the bathroom on the last day (but was out of their control)

This hotel is strickly for the young backpackers. the noise from the guests was very unsettling. when they say shared restroom, it is really shared restroom. two showers in one room along with a tolette behind a door. i'm not sure how many guest used the "shared bathroom" but there were several, 6 to 10 at least. when we arrived there were no towels in the room and when we asked for some it took several minutes for two to be found. i think they were from someones personal supply because they were colorful and not tipical hotel type towels. they were not exchanged the three nights we spend at the hotel. there were no pillow cases the first night, my wife used her her towel to cover her pillow because of the human hair that was on it. i took one of the pillows to an attendant to try to get a clean one and with a smile on his face he took it and didn't bring me another one until i asked for one the next day. the view, what can i say, there was a blank wall of a building almost within touching distance and that was all you could see out of the window. the bed while firm enough for us was only about 10 inches off the floor with a metal frame and a 4 inch materess. the sheets were for bunk beds as was the blanket. how ever the bed itself was everytime either of us turned a regular size. when my wife or i would turn over the other would be uncovered. as for the sheet on which we slept, it would bundle up and i would find myself lying on the matteress. the tv in the room would turn on but no channels would come in. they offered us videoes to watch but the battery in the remote wouldn't work so we couldn't choose the english translated version of the audio. there were several clothes hangers in a compartment under the cabinet on which the tv set but there was no place to hang our clothes. i would never recommend that anyone stay at this hotel. the only positive thing i can say about it is that it was just one block from the tram. oh yes, we had intended to stay for seven nights but were able to cancel four of them without loosing one night's deposit. if it was to do over i might well just take the loss and run. i made a bad mistate on this form. i chedked that i would recommend this hotel to "mater travellers", mistake, i couldn't honestly recommend the adone house to anyone. i just couldn't find a was to erase the recommendation.

Noicy

I made a reservation for 2 nights, but when i arrived (after taking a train from naples), i was told that adone house was full to capacity. they were very pleasant in explaining this to me, but i was required to walk to a new location/hostel, which was arranged for me at the same price per night as adone house. i noticed that, after i was turned away, other guests (man/woman couple)arrived after me, and were accepted for the evening. again, the staff at adone house were very polite, but it was disappointing to be turned away.

The showers!!!

Not much

I booked for a 6-bed female dorm but ended up in a 8-bed mixed dorm. the owners said that they don't have 6-bed female dorm although it was listed on the website.

Some of the staff are not so nice

Not airconditioned (as advertised). even fan was not working well

The bathroom is very bad, but the internet problem is the worst

The bathroom shower was practically unusable due to a clogged drain
