The Botanic Garden of Rome is an integral part of the Department of Plant Biology of the “La Sapienza” University of Rome. It is located in the park of Villa Corsini, which was once the residence of Christina of Sweden. The garden spans about 12 hectares, contains about two thousand square meters of greenhouse, and is divided into different “habitats”, or environments, that are characterized by particular species of plants.
