The Hotel Anfiteatro Flavio is housed in a 19th Century Roman mansion located in the heart of historic Rome and a stones throw from the famous Coliseum. Recently refurbished, this well appointed Hotel has an excellent range of facilities to compliment its prime location. Our friendly staff will do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The Hotel Anfiteatro Flavio is located in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of some of the most famous attractions within the city, including the Colosseum (known as the Flavian Amphitheatre in antiquity) - one of the most awe-inspiring monuments of the ancient world, which is in surprisingly good repair.
The Vatican City (Papal State), including St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel, is a thirty-minute walk from the hotel.
Among other attractions that are only minutes away is the Pantheon on Via del Seminario, built by the architect Emperor Hadrian 2000 years ago, a huge, domed roof housing the tomb of Raphael, and the Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, a Gothic, 13th-century church in the centre of town that houses the tombs of wealthy Romans and priceless frescoes.
The Capitol is the city hall, located on the Capitoline Hill. One of Rome's most elegant squares, it was designed by Michelangelo and features some of the city's primary classical sculptures and museums.

First, location is impressive...you can see the colisseum right out of the front door. rooms are big, the air conditioning is good (except for our last day) and the breakfast is good too.The room smelled pretty bad, i don't know if they have drain problems or what. you get used to it pretty fast and the a/c is very helpful for that too. the staff was very nice in general, except for one lady at the desk that was pretty unfriendlyBaghdadi

We arrived at the hotel a bit before check in time. the staff were very polite, but there was a problem with the plumbing in our room. the offered us the option of waiting until later in the day to see if it could be fixed before evening, or transferring to another hotel of equivalent 'value' with same facilities. we chose to move as we wanted to check in asap. the staff drove us to the other hotel and paid the difference in price. they checked with us that we were being treated well and the hotel was satisfactory. on this alone, i would recommend them. in addition to the staff and the presentation of the hotel entrance (we didn't get to see the rooms), the hotel is in a superb location for sightseeing in rome; just down the road from the colosseum and an easy walk to lots of other sights, and in the midst of lots of fabulous food.Mrs J Hamnett

Although there was a tour bus stop very close to the hotel, where we could have purchased tickets, hotel staff did not volunteer this information and, instead, tried to charge us sizeable commissions for their "services", even for a 3-year old child who actually rode free on the tour bus. The young female staff was very attractive and friendly, and the location was wonderful...although the hotel was not very easy to find.Air conditioner in the romolo room made noise like a war machine, and the breakfast was awful! i have never had worser pastries...they should have just bought packaged products wrapped in plastic if they cared so little about food quality!Fernandez

The staff were helpful, although not necessarily to us, but to other guests. the location was very convienient.Our room was situated next to the reception and as it was open 24hours we didnt get a wink of sleep for 2 nights as the receptionist decided to watch tv on loud volume and talk over the tv. there was no air conditioning and our room was so tight it was a wonder how any other guests were able to squeeze in. i wasn't too pleased by the fact that we had to hand our key in everytime we left the hotel.Anonymous

The reception staff, particularly those on in the evenings were extremely helpful and efficient. The shower cubicle was so small it was difficult to use. the walls between the bedrooms were paper thin and we were unfortuate enough to have a herd of elephants in the room next door, didn't make for a great rest which was needed after a days walking. the staff in the breakfast room were off-hand, apart from the older lady who was very pleasant and welcoming. i would not call this establishment a hotel, it was a pretty basic b&b.
