In partnership with
Cons: Room was small for the price and noisy as it was next to the bar
Cons: The rooms are a bit stark for american standards and the location did not leave much of a view. however, rome is meant to be seen and experienced walking around, not from a hotel room.
the rooms are small but beautifully done out and very clean.we stayed in room 216 which over looked the front courtyard. very quite location at night. breakfast was a good choice for a continental style and the setting in the roof garden was lovely with good views.
staff were excellent english speaking and arranged an imediate transfer to and from the hotel.
Cons: If i was elderly the entrance on foot would be an issue because on one side there are steep steps and the other a narrow cobbled street.
Cons: Was very disappointed that we were not able to stay in hotel bolivar for our first night due to "electrical probelms" within the hotel. they arranged an alternative hotel in a different part of town that was satisfactory (clean etc) but was not in the same class as hotel bolivar.
Cons: Bar fridge not working, and was told live with it noone works in august
Cons: Road leading up to the hotel was a bit of a mess
Cons: Breakfast very poor. in a country where fresh fruit is abundant the fruit was poor and the juice was synthetic. coffee was also appalling.
Cons: The water in the shower was unpredictable, took ages to heat up and went cold very quickly.
Cons: We stayed three nights, but the first night the hotel was overbooked, and they sent us to another hotel. (was closeby though and was a nice hotel)
Cons: We had some problems with the hot water and the heat.
