How to reach the Hotel Edera?By car: From highway A1 Roma-Firenze, take exit Roma Nord. Go straight ahead for 20 km and exit at Settebagni. Take via Salaria until the centre of Rome and follow the indications to the Santa Maria Maggiore basilica or Termini railway station. From the basilica, take via Merulana and continue for about 200 meters until via Poliziano.
By public transport, from Termini railway station: Take metro line A for one stop to Vittorio Emanuele and walk from there.
By public transport, from Fiumicino airport: Take the airport train to Termini central station, change to metro line A and get off at metro stop 'Vittorio Emanuele'. The hotel is at walking distance from the metro stop.

The location of the hotel is absolutely excellent, very close to the colloseum and therefore perfect for picking up the tour buses. it is also veyr close to a main street which has a variety of very good value restaurants.
They have a bar which wasn't open for the duration of our stay. it would have been nice to come back and have a drink and socialise with other hotel guests.Anonymous

Reception staff extremely helpful, two in particular with tours, transport and information around the city. location excellent, very quiet at night and close to good basic restaurants.Computer access too basic, unable to check-in online as no printer available.Anonymous

The location was great, a few minutes walk and you were at the colossuem. the room was well sized and had a big, nice bathroom.The tv reception wasnt the best.Anonymous

They had free breakfast. and its close to the ruins. that's it.They told us they only had 1 room available (even though we had booked ahead of time), which was dirty, within their patio where cats could get in, and had a partly broken door and broken bathroom mirror. they said all of their rooms were standard but it did not seem so. we could not open our window because it had no net and would have allowed multiple wild cats to enter our room. (it literally faced the outside patio, on the first floor). the safe is not located within your own room - you have to go to the front desk whenever you wish to access it and they charge you a fee. the management was also quite rude when we went to ask for a new room and would not provide it. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The price of euro180 for a double room per night is extremely high -
the airconditioner had to be turned off at night because it made so much noise

Location and cost. staff were polite. no hidden costsThe cleaner starts very early so don't expect a lie in. the room, whilst clean, looked like it was in need of refurbishment. whilst street noise was minimal, most of the noise was in the hotel - you could hear the pipes everytime another room used the shower and could also hear the neighbours (although this is somewhat expected in most hotels)PREMADASA

Arrived to check in and they informed us they had a problem with the hot water, we were transfered to a four star hotel free of charge and a taxi paid for by the hotel to the new hotel. very positive experience the staff were very good and i was very happy with the service we received i wouldn't hesitate to go back again.Tinker

Great location for the forum, etc, helpful staff, nice bathrooms and clean rooms. very good value for money.The buffet breakfast was good, although i would have liked wholemeal bread and more choice of cereals. not many good local restaurants, but really these are minor quibbles.Anonymous
