"Great location and very helpful and friendly staff"

The Esquilino Hotel is also situated very close to the main train station Termini, offering  connections with national and international arrivals of both Fuimicino and Ciampino Airports. How you can get to Hotel Esquilino

From Fiumicino Airport to Termini Railway Station: Roma Fiumicino Airport-Leonardo da Vinci FCA has a small 3 track train station from which you can either take the Direct Train to Roma Termini (scheduled every 30 minutes, leaving on the 7th and the 37th minute of every hour from 6:37 to 23:37, tickets are Euro 9,30, and it will take 32 minutes).

From Ciampino to Termini Railway Station: Roma Ciampino Airport CIA is the closest airport to town, but, having a lesser number of flights landing there, it has no train connection to the centre of Rome. You would have to take the Airport shuttle (about every 30 minutes) to Anagnina, the first stop of the underground Metro line A. Take the underground from Anagnina to Termini.

From Termini to the hotel: Arriving from Termini take Via Cavour for approx. 500 meter. You will see, at your left, the amazing basilica. The hotel is situated in an ancient noble roman building on Esquilino square at number 29 (corner of Via Cavour).

Cons: When i arrived in the afternoon to check in, the hotel informed me that they needed to move me to a different hotel because the rooms were overbooked and i was assured there was no space. the new hotel was 4 metro stops away! unacceptable. i had to explain that my plans depended on my proximity to termini station, and after much hardball conversation i was finally shown to a room in the same hotel i made a reservation for.

Pros: The only positive experience was the location and francesco the day hotel manager who was very friendly.
Cons: I was shocked!!!! i have booked many hotels over the years through you, but was so embarrassed, because i had a friend with me, and could not believe my eyes. the tv wasn't working in any of the rooms, the air conditioner was out of order in both rooms that we stayed in, and it was definitely not buffet breakfast as was advertised by them.

Cons: There was some noise during the night/early morning (very loud flushing noises from the toilets of other rooms and people knocking on doors in the middle of the night)

staff was very polite and helpful.
Cons: Room looked much poorer than in pictures and it was noisy (but it is acceptable in city center);
minibar was not working;
one day room was not closed after cleaning therefore anyone had possibility to get in (fortunately we found all our things);

Cons: Being shipped off to another hotel for our first night despite having a booking and hearing nothing, the state of the room (door handles falling off, bed held together with masking tape, no air con or fan or breeze), the man in charge at reception was also very rude.
