What you can expect in the surroundings of Hotel Felice Rome
A truly convenient central and peaceful location reflects the preference of distinguished travellers. The hotel is located in the wonderful San Lorenzo district, close to the Termini Railway Station and the University area. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and only five minutes from the famous street “Via Veneto“ and the "Colosseo".
It is not easy to describe what the San Lorenzo area represents nowadays; in fact one realizes at first sight it is not an area to confuse with any other area in Rome. Often you have the impression to be somewhere else, not in Rome. San Lorenzo is like a village itself, a city on a human scale, where relations among people seem to be the way they were in the past. People's common thought about this area is that it has a big impact on everybody; somehow people are attracted by S. Lorenzo’s soul. Its history reveals a surprising continuity between the past and present, since its origins centuries ago. It is amazing that in more than one century history, its true and deep soul is unchanged in spite of the deep changes in society, and historical events which affected Italy.

Cons: Only one person spoke english that worked at the hotel. the older gentlemen that worked the night shift/ day shift speak only italian so communications was tuff a bit but they are very nice. the location of the hotel is not ideal. our party walked all over and coming in at night its kind of sketchy... wouldn't walk alone. the website says you get free wifi but in fact you get an access code for one person and it really doesn't work in the room.you can only use it on one device if used by two people it wont work anymore then you are required to buy another one from staff at 10 euros for each card. would i stay at this place again?? if i didn't have to i wouldn't.. but we got to see another side of the city. if you take a taxi to the hotel from the train station it should be no more then 6 euros. make sure they turn on the meter and its running and working. dont let them fool you!
Cons: It may have been my fault in reading the descriptions, but the shared bathroom came as a surprise. not a big problem in practice.
Cons: I learned that in a supposedly 3 star hotel (never ever this is 3 stars), if you rent a basic room instead of a standard room, that means, no bathroom or shower in your room. what? the breakfast included is a coffee and croisant at bar across the street (they give you a coupon). but the man at night, really rude (the one the next morning, a normally nice person). i speak italian, and he tried to convince me that basic room in english means no bathroom. in general, very basic hotel, probably one star if much, and it is not so close to termini. if you have bags, you have to take a taxi, because it is several blocks to get there. i mean, was cheap. but if you think you are really getting a 3 star for 70 euros, you are as dumb as me.
Cons: Noisy - locks of the door would "bang" every time anyone closes it plus half of the rooms is to the busy mainroad...
Cons: Felt that the pricing wasnt clear
clean rooms
pleasant sitting room
gorgeous roof terrace
breakfast in local cafe
assistance with wheelchair
Cons: Not all the rooms are en suite. this fact could inadvertently have been overlooked during the booking process; a room without private facilities would not have been a comfortable experience.
Cons: Only 2 toilet/showers for 14 rooms. very little english spoken. not safe to walk from train station to hotel at night but buses easy to use and very cheap to get back and forward to hotel.
Cons: There was no bathroom in the lobby, so if someone was in the two bathrooms upstairs you had to wait. it is very noisy too, as there is a restaurant next to the hotel and it is very loud at night. the night man was slightly grumpy. when we went to check in they told us we had to pay in cash, even though their website says they accept credit cards - they ended up accepting our credit cards. also, do not try and walk from termini, it says it's a 5 minute walk- but it's kind of sketchy. once we figured out how close we were to the bus stop we started taking the bus, which was much easier! overall, i would return to hotel felice!
Cons: I thought the price was a little high for my budget, but booking six weeks in advance, this was the cheapest we could find that was still in the heart of rome. you need to take the stairs to your room, so don't book if you have a problem with stairs. there are 2 bathroom/showers for the approx. 22 rooms; this got tricky sometimes.
