For a family of 5 this proved a good choice as the rooms re-allocated in the hotel on the viale giulio cesare in a quiet appartment building were only a few metres from the ottaviano metro and easy walking distance from both st peters square and the vatican museum. having purchased cis 7 day public transport passes we could access the hotel with the greatest of ease and packed more into the holiday than we thought possible.
We'd have appreciated being told of the relocation before we arrived as we dragged our cases from cipro metro to the via andrea doria and then followed the guide on foot to the other hotel back to the previous stop. we also thought the 8.20am opening of the nearby cafe for breakfast too late for a city where monuments open at 8.30am.

Hotel vatican was extremely helpful in guiding me throughout rome, providing train and travel info as well as generally helping me with my italian since it's rather limited!
No negative comments at all.

The hotel staff did everything he could to assist me and my boyfriend. we had no time to print our vatican musuem tickets prior to boarding the plane and the staff was kind enough to print it for us. cleanliness acceptable but don't expect vast of space for italy hotels.

Elegantly appointed room, yet a bit small. non-smoking, quiet and your own perfectly working climate controls! owners did everything to make it comfortable and arranged affortable transportation. great location, convenient to metro and local attractions. very reasonable rates, especially for the quality. we would stay again and recommend to anyone without reservation!!

Clean room, veryhelpful, concerned staff, both gentlemen and a lady.
Breakfast could be improved. suggestion, give eggs or meat as an option, instead of bread.

It was in a great location,
We had no hot water for the 4 days we stayed, we were put into a different hotel to the one i booked, the rooms smelt of cigarettes and we found cigarrette butts under our bed.

The staff were helpful and the room was clean.
Breakfast was ok but a 100m walk from the room we hadn't realised. the staff arranged an expensive taxi service to get us to the airport however he arrived over 35 minutes late. we were then held up on the way and missed our flight. we had to pay 400 euros to get home which was a very bad end to a lovely few days

As others have said, the rooms are small but clean. the location is excellent.
The only disadvantage was that if you don't know which location your room is at, you have to walk to the other location - e-mail a few days in advance to avoid that.

The hotel is located within 5 minutes walk from the vatican; it is easy to walk from it to most of the touristic attractions of rome. if you don't like to walk, ask the receptionist to call you a taxi - it arrives within 4 minutes. the hotel is very quiet, although situated on a large street. it is very clean and the receptionists are very friendly. there are many cafes and pizza places on the street of the hotel with reasonably priced food and they are open till midnight. the breakfast is served in a cafe outside of the hotel building, but this does not create a problem, because the cafe is very clean and cozy too. the capucino is excellent. fresh towels and room cleaning are provided every day. wi-fi is available in the rooms, if you bring your own laptop. ask for the password at the reception.
I did not experience anything negative. the hotel provides excellent conditions for the price. the rooms are quite small, but you have the advantage to stay in a traditional building.

Very, very clean room. very, very friendly personnel. goed breakfast, great location.
If we must to indicated something negative it would be the size of the room which was very small, but it did not bother us at all. it was tidy and cosy.
