Hotel Veneto is located in a 19th century building in the elegant neighbourhood of the famous Via Veneto, close to the Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi and Galleria Borghese.
This Umbertine style palace is in a central and privileged location right in the historic part of Rome. Its location, on one of Rome's seven hills very close to the Villa Borghese park means that it enjoys pure and fresh air, ideal for the warm summer months.
How to reach the Hotel Veneto?The Hotel Veneto lies close to main bus routes and the subway, leading you quickly to the Colosseum and the Vatican City, and nearby the main train station, where even the airport shuttles stops.
From the main station Termini: approximate distance 1.5 km.
By bus: Here you can take bus No. 910. Get off on the 4th stop, right in front of the hotel.
By train: From the Roma Termini railway station, around 1,5 km from the hotel, take underground line A towards Battistini and get off at Barberini, from there take Via Veneto, turn right on via Boncompagni and then left at the third crossroad.
From the Barberini square (subway): approximate distance 800 meters.
On foot: Follow Via Veneto, at the American Embassy turn to the right on Via Boncompagni, go straight on until you reach the crossing with Via Piemonte (3 blocks). You will immediately see the hotel to your left.
By bus: Otherwise you can take bus 80, 52, 53, 63 or 630.
By car: Arriving by car is possible. Nevertheless, because the hotel is situated in the city center occasionally Via Veneto is closed to traffic in which case you will have to avoid the city center and instead arrive from Piazza Fiume on the opposite side. If you are arriving from the north, it is best to take via Salaria which terminates at the start of the city centre. Go directly through Piazza Fiume and take the second right, Via Boncompagni, then turn right into via Piemonte.
By airplane: The Fiumicino Airport is about 30 km from the city-centre and is well connected by highway and express train service.

I'm afraid that i cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. the hotel staff were very rude. i had a huge fight at reception to try and get a second room key, they insisted that a porter would let me into my room. needless to say the porter never arrived. i arrived back at reception and only after i had an "italian" fit of rage did they provode another. the hotel lost my booking. we ordered a bus for a family trip and it never came. do not book this hotel! Staff very friendly and helpful, hotel has nice warm feel to it, area just off via veneto really nice, breakfast goodRooms did not look like picture on website, a bit small and as we were in superior twin i would not like to stay in standard! i had booked four nights but hotel was overbooked so we were sent to another hotel for first night which was very inconvenient although they paid for taxi transfers and were very apologetic. there appears to stil some unfinished renovations in progress.Anonymous

Staff were helpful and pleasant. language was not a problem as we feared. the hotel was in a central location.the rooms were cleaned every day and additional towels were available if we asked for them.Breakfast coffee tended to be cold but the staff were always willing to make a fresh cup.Alexander

Rooms were clean and nicely furnished, every room was slightly different in layout which was interesting. breakfast can be improved, location is good if you're willing to try the public bus, it is quite a walk to via veneto and the nearest metro station (baberini) especially for elderly guests. otherwise a very pleasant stay. Breakfast menu appeared the same for the two days we were there. will be nice if there is something warm like eggs or bacon. Wynne

I have stayed in rome numerous times and the rooms in the veneto are certainly bigger than normal. also the location of the hotel is excellent just around the corner from via veneto. this is a lovely hotel spotless and very nicely decorated and very good value when you compare to other hotel prices. i liked this hotel so much that i booked my parents and family in for 5 nights for my wedding in sept 08Although the rooms are big the bathrooms are quite small. also the receptionst was a little bit on the grumpy side when we arrived. after we returned from dinner there was a new receptions on duty and he was extremely friendly and helpful.Pliaka

It was quite quiet and cool.The rooms were on the small side and lacked liveliness especially in style and colour. the breakfast was announced as served until 10am; however, on out first day, at exactly 10.05am, the senior waiter made an announcement that breakfast was finished and that within five minutes no further food would be available. it was not just the announcement itself but the officious way in which it was made, as if we were disobedient children.ROBERTS

Very clean, still in process of being done up, but our room was all new and sparkly clean. greta location, 10mins walk to spanish steps.We arrived at 11am ish and was advised to come back later as couldnt check in until 2pm. we advised the receptionist that we would be abck later that evening as we would be going out for the whole day and left our bags. when we returned at 9pm, there was no room and we were moved to another hotel. this was not a good experience, we had been up since 3am and just wanted to settle down, not being able to unpack was inconvenient and we had to move back to the veneto the next morning, unable again to check in until after 2pm. so it was late the next night when we finally went to our room!Anonymous

Excellent friendly service. alwyas willing to helpThe clarity over breakfast was appaling. although there was a cost card when we filled and signed up for breafast option we would never had thought that we had to pay 6 euros for an egg omelette which we thought was in our price. we had assumed the cost was for people who were not taking the breakfast optionalso they overbooked for the saturday and only told us when we arrived exhausted late at night. they put us in another hotel which was a bit annoying that they did not contact us in advamce and tell us this
