We booked a double room but the bed was not much larger than a single, how they can pass the room as a double is beyond me. we asked to be switched which they did, but tried to tell us there were no single rooms in the hotel and still charged the double room rate.

Very clean and comfortable. looked like the room had recently been refurbished as it was in an excellent condition. bathroom looked brand new with perfectly white grout around the tiles. the windows were excellent at keeping the city noises out - we never heard a thing. location was excellent for siteseeing, nothing was very far to walk to but the open top bus stops at the church of santa maria maggiore (one of the sites on the itinerary) which is only about 100 yards away. there is an excellent, but expensive, restaurant just down the hill which we would definitely recommend (though can't remember the name!) they have a pianist on saturday nights and the staff are very friendly and chatty.
Our room (101) was very close to the kitchen and the sunday morning clatter of plates started at around 4am and didn't cease until after 10am, this didn't happen on other mornings though, i imagine there was a party leaving early which they had agreed to do early breakfast for. although the hotel details state satellite tv as one of the attractions there is not a single english speaking channel available, which was disappointing for a european city-centre 3 star hotel.

Ideally situated for sightseeing as it was walking distance to most sites and also termini station was only 5 mins away. it was also far enough away from the station to be away from the more seedier areas. the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. the room was cleaned daily. the bathroom was fine and the bath was big enough for me to soak in (and i'm not on the small side !!!)after a days site seeing. the air con worked and was very good, we didn't have to pay extra for it as was read on some review. the breakfast was continental, however you could have as much as you wished, although come 10am they cleared away very quickly. there were many restaurants in the vicinity but by far the best was literally next door to the hotel, it was reasonably priced and the food was very good. the waiter, alam, was more than helpful and very courtious, i would recommend a visit. all in all the good hotel, and the restaurant helped make our 5 day stay in rome very pleasurable and i wouldn't hesitate using the verona again when we return to rome in the futre.
