The family owned Hotel Zara is housed in a completely renovated antique palace.
The hotel is located in the centre of Rome within walking distance of the historic centre and sites such as the Via Veneto and Spanish Steps.
The hotel's corridors are nicely decorated in Venetian style. In an elegantly decorated and recently renovated hall on the first floor the continental breakfast is served every morning from 07:30 am to 09:30 am. This property provides easy access to the city’s public transport system with the added advantage of being within walking distance to most major tourist attractions like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Via dei Condotti. Just a few steps from the hotel you will find some of the best shopping areas that Rome has to offer: the famous Via Nazionale, or Via Quattro Fontane and its “Baroque” part of the beautiful city.
The hotel is centrally located about 5 minutes walking distance from 'Repubblica' metro station and 10 minutes from Termini Railway Station. With this metro stop nearby, you can reach the Vatican City in 20 minutes. You can also take a bus to the Colosseum which takes you there in 10 minutes.
How to reach the Hotel Zara?By train: From the Roma Termini Railway Station, take bus number 40 or 64 and get off at the first or second stop along Via Nazionale. Proceed along Via Nazionale on foot, then turn right into Via Quattro Fontane. From the station, it is also possible to reach the hotel on foot in approximately 15 minutes.
By airplane: The Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci Airport is about 30 kilometers from the city-centre and is well connected by highway and express train service. From this airport you can take the Leonardo Express train to Termini Railway Station. From there please follow the directions above (by train).
From Ciampino Airport you can take the bus to metro station 'Anagnina', then take metro line A to Termini Railway Station. From there please follow the directions above (by train).

Hotel zara is excellently placed, close to the main train station and all the main sights. the staff were friendly and spoke good english, breakfast was a good continental style breakfast. the air-con worked well and was quiet.
The shower curtain in room 320 should be replaced, it's really dirty at the bottom of it. i'm not a great lover of shoer curtains anyway. a safe in the room would have been useful.Ashwood

NoneStaf, manly in the dining room very arrogant. i never stay in this hotel again.. dark, old beds is very on comptabled. we stock int the cramy old small lift. i never recomend this hotel to my friends, even the location is good. price, for the hotel is very high for the value.... Anonymous

Very clean, good location, quietSome general maintenance required to fix small issues which give a poor impression. the stair rail to the first floor needs replacing. the gaffer tape a the top of the stair rail seems to be working well but its not what you expect to see. also the shower attachment in our bathroom was loose, another simple maintenance item.
at breakfast how about providing pots of real coffee and tea instead of having to use a machine? the bar area next to the breakfast room certainly has the facilities.RIMKUS

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. breakfast was ok, nothing special but not bad. good location in the center of town. the room was larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. towels were changed when we requested them to be, but not otherwise.The first room given to us had not been cleaned after the prior occupant. the staff seemed shocked & promptly moved us to a different room. sadly, this is probably indicative of the cleaning staff, who could probably do a better job overall.Dixon

When we arrived they had only recieved info about the booking of the single room but the staff dealt with the problem quickly and put us at ease. staff were happy to recommend places to go, give us directions etc and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until our later flight.The double room and it's bathroom was a little bit of a squeeze but it was only somewhere to rest your head in between eating, drinking and sightseeing. the lift was also a tight squeeze for 3 people with luggage but the stairs were wide and spacious if you had the energy.Anonymous
