The hotel was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood 15 min. from the center of Rome. The rooms had ample space and were very clean. Each hotel employee was friendly and helpful. Each staff member asked if we needed help with planning our day, finding a specific location, restaurant, or giving us directions. It was a truly a pleasant experience. I recommend Hotel Lodi to all.

"The staff were very welcoming and keen to make recommendations of places to..."
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and keen to make recommendations of places to eat, see and local available supermarkets etc. the room was well furnished and comfortable. the hotel was exactly what we needed when visiting rome on a tight budget - clean, functional, comfortable, reasonably well located and competitively priced. i have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other visitors.
Cons: Music played or conversations held in the communal areas tend to echo up the staircase to all rooms which can be a slight annoyance.
Pros: The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. outdoor breakfast area was nice.
Cons: This is more of a youth hostel than a hotel. pretty far from any sites.

"Extremely freindly staff who will help you with any aspect of your stay"
Pros: Extremely freindly staff who will help you with any aspect of your stay. this alone makes the lodi a wonderful place to base yourself for a stay in rome. i cannot stress enough how welcome we were made to feel. when we return to rome we will not be looking at any other hotels.
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful
Cons: Hotel was cold, run down, cramped.
it was a hostel rather than hotel.
i would only recommend to very young travellers (late teens/early 20's) who are happy to have a youth hostel experience.

"Toni and fabri are outstanding hosts"
Pros: Toni and fabri are outstanding hosts. toni sat with us our first day in rome and helped us plan out itinerary. fabri suggested restaurants and was helpful in getting us to and from the airport.
also, there's a kitchen open to all guests, so we could purchase snacks and wine.
Cons: I don't recall if the ad mentioned the shared toilet, but it was a surprise to us. it's fairly noisy, especially in the rooms facing the street.

Pros: All round lovely hotel, with clean rooms, lovely garden for breakfast and to relax in, in the evening, and the staff antonella, fabrizio, ali & mirella could not have been more friendly. they made us very welcome and were full of great advice on what to see and do in rome, where to eat, how to get around and every bit of advice you could hope for. this for us was one of the highlights of rome and made the visit all the more enjoyable and memorable. thanks antonella, fabrizio, ali & mirella - you are a great team and you have a terrific hotel.
Cons: None whatsover, and an excellent hotel for a stay in rome.
