The Capitoline Museums comprise some of the oldest, largest, and most eclectic art collections in the world. Situated around a central campidoglio, the museums consist of four palazzos (Conservatori, Senatori, Nuovo, and Clementino), the Tibularium, the great galleries (Congiunzione and Lapidaris), the Temple of Capitoline Jupiter, the Capitoline Coin Cabinet, and the peaceful Giardino Romano (Roman Garden). The museums boast an impressive array of artwork for everyone to enjoy. She-Wolf, The Spinarius, The Camillus, and the colossus head of Constantine are among the oldest.

The Dying Gaul, a full-body sculpture, is dated to sometime before the fall of the Roman Empire. The massive equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius is a main showcase, as are Caravaggio's famous St. John the Baptist and Gypsy, Ruben's Romulus and Remus Fed by the Wolf, and Titian's Baptism of Christ. The Castellani collection of decorative ancient pottery, the Cini collection of porcelain, and the Capitoline coin and medal collection are also featured. The Museums are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.; closed Mondays, January 1, May 1, and December 25. Artviva conducts public, private, and personalized tours. The Capitoline Museums are a great place to get lost in history and learn about world cultures—a 'must' for any trip to Rome.
