What you can expect in the surroundings of Aenea Superior Inn Rome

The location of Aenea Superior Inn Rome is exceptional. The Colosseum and Fori Imperiali are no more than an easy five minute walk. Moreover the “Cavour” metro station is approximately 200 meters far and Termini Railway Station around 400 meters distant.

In the immediate vicinity of Aenea Superior Inn, it’s worth a moment to linger along the narrow lanes of the Suburra, the church of Santa Pudenziana and its Byzantine mosaic (this is the oldest church in Rome, it dates back to the third century A.D.; the tradition says that Saint Peter might have found shelter there during the Christian persecution), the church of Santa Prassede and obviously the magnificent and imposing Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

The “Suburra” – the previous name of this district located on the sloped of the Quirinale and Viminale hills spreading as far as Esquilino hill – was a suburban neighbourhood of ill-fame. Today the district of Suburra is called “Rione Monti”, the first neighbourhood of the city, one of the few places where you can have a real, genuine breathing area.

Aenea Superior Inn, the perfect starting point to enjoy the best of the eternal city!

How you can get to Aenea Superior Inn

From Termini Railway Station: Enter "Via Cavour" (when you exit the station on your left/Via Giolitti side), go straight for 150-200 meters, turn right into Piazza dell'Esquilino and left into "Via Urbana".

From Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci Airport: You can take the train "Leonardo express" at the airport which goes to Termini Station. From there the hotel is on walking distance: enter "Via Cavour" (when you exit the station on your left/Via Giolitti side), go straight for 150-200 meters, turn right into Piazza dell'Esquilino and left into "Via Urbana".

From Ciampino Airport: Take the train FMA-Rome Ciampino and get off at Termini Station - it runs every 20 minutes from 06.15 hrs to 23.45 hrs- or take the special bus to Termini Station.

Pros: Staff are really friendly and helpful. kettle in room is a big plus, also fridge. basket of fresh breakfast pastries is put outside room each morning. decor is nice, bed comfortable.
Cons: As with many hotels in rome, be prepared for a big black door and an intercom as your first impression! you don't have to use the scary-looking lift, there's a short flight of stairs instead. we would say the colosseum is a 10-15min walk away rather than 5mins. but really, no complaints!

Pros: Stayed at the aenea for 1 night in march - my parents stopped here for 4 nights for my dad's 60th and we flew out to surprise them. allesandro (manager) was amazing. he helped us keep the surprise, agreed to open up early so we could catch them unawares and smuggled us in undetected. lovely, helpful man and a beautiful hotel.
Cons: This isn't a negative so much as a note for new travellers - mnake sure you take the property number of the hotel as we found it difficult to find as first - its not a "traditional" hotel with an open reception area but a condominium in a tall story building - you have to press the buzzer putside for reception.
