Pros: Although it wasn't what we expected,it was generally clean,and staff were peasant.
Cons: The reason for my negative comments is that having booked and expected to stay at the main residenza domizia in via coronari,we found ourselves given a room in the residenza domizia smart design in via gregoriana,some way from the main hotel. the rooms were inferior and location not so good for us,and we were still charged the rate we had agreed to pay for the main hotel. i have complained to the hotel,but without any apology or offer of recompense forthcoming.also access was very poor for anyone with disability.very noisy early morning at the back.

"Location was absolutely perfect -- right in the middle of everything..."

Pros: Location was absolutely perfect -- right in the middle of everything (vatican, coliseum, pantheon, etc.). all the main attractions were in walking distance.
Cons: I found the transportation directions from your website (from the train station to the hotel) to be a bit misleading -- we were a lot further away than i thought when we got off the recommended metro stop. this made for a rather uncomfortable arrival (fly in to rome, take train from airport to train station, take metro to a location not very close to hotel, and then walk or taxi to hotel). i understand that's all required -- it's just that i got the impression from the website that the hotel would be a lot closer to the hotel. i also think the wrong bus number was quoted on the website (you should take bus #70 from the train station, not #64).

Pros: Fantastic position in a central, yet quiet and lovely street; rooms and bathrooms are well furnished, clean and reasonably large
Cons: Breakfast is included but quite poor - no fresh bread, no fruit, low quality croissants

Pros: I was absolutely amazed at the location (near the vatican and many other main sites) and the price was well worth the stay. nice front desk staff, a/c was great (and much appreciated) and all amenities were modern and clean. i was awaiting a small room based on others feedback and this was not the case considering size of rooms in europe. i would absolutely recommend this as a place to stay to friends and family and will be definitely be returning for my next rome trip.
Cons: No negatives, just a suggestion to be prepared that it is second floor in a building and not a main entrance as you'd find with other hotels. knowing this will make it easier to find.

As a base to explore rome it was fantstic we got it at a cheap price

In an ancient building originally constructed in the 1700s, this completely restructured hotel has a great location in the heart of Rome.

This excellent cantral location means that all of Rome’s many sights, ancient monuments and attractions are within easy reach, including Via del Corso, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

Residenza Domizia even has its own art gallery, Antiquarius, just a short walk away from the hotel. The gallery houses a selection of artworks, both modern and ancient, and guests can take advantage of a discount of at least 5% on any purchase. The hotel’s historic original structure contains comfortable air-conditioned accommodation, equipped with modern comforts and facilities and boasting beautiful original features such as wood-beamed ceilings.
