The apartment is located in the centre of Rome just a 2-minute walk away from the Spanish Steps, between Via del Corso and Via del Babuino (two main shopping streets). The apartment is situated right in the heart of Rome where the world's most famous topmodels have walked the catwalk and close to the Barcaccia fountain, which was created by Bernini in 1627.
The Retreat Apartment is a few minutes walking distance from the Spanish Steps and located at only 30 meters from Rome's most important shopping streets: Via dei Condotti and Via del Babuino. Your Stay in Rome will be comfortable because all touristic sites are within walking distance. In fact, in only few minutes you can stroll up to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Campo di Fiori, but also to the Colosseum or the Vatican. You are surrounded by history!
The closest metro stations from the apartments are Line A 'Spagna' and Line A 'Flaminio', allowing you to easily reach all parts of Rome. Also, the electric bus number 117, that runs through all the small streets in the centre, stops nearby.

You do not need to change bus, train or metro and with the shuttle service you save time.
By public transport, from Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci Airport: Take the Leonardo Express train to Termini Railway Station. From there, take metro line A direction 'Battistini' and get off at metro stop 'Flaminio'. The hotel is at 8 minutes walking distance from the metro station.

What impressed us was that nothing went wrong!
from the pickup at the airport, which was on time with an english speaking driver with pleasant personality, who took time to drive us past the colosseum as we drove into town, to the extremely capable and personable manager who was waiting on the doorstep and provided us with more tips then we could possibly absorb, to the actual apartment itself which is situated in an absolutely wonderful location, and was spacious with lovely terrace.
even the weather helped, we found a great place to eat around the corner in via del vantaggio, and finally were accommodated in being able to leave our luggage on our departure day.
highly recommended, for anybody really..
Nothing negative to report,we loved our stay and will try and book it again next time we decide to come to rome.
if anything , our stay was much, much too short.Anonymous

Apartment was clean and in good location The apartment poorly equiped, the person letting us in was late arriving leaving us in the street, for 45mins not were to go.they wanted us to pay cash for the apartment, this was nt detailed on the booking notice .we did not have cash and could not get easliy, the caretaker came to our apartment, as used as storage for other apartment once five times in the space of 45mins.
he then told us the his boss was a big lady and that we should pay, managed to pay through pay pal , been then chased for extra 30 euros, lady shouting at us at the door, not ideal with children with us. did not like thier heavy hand approach !
told washing machine not working , then told was , every time emptied the sink came out in alistair stevenson

thankyou for a wonderful stay at the retreat. we thought the location was perfect as it was so central and really quaint area.we loved the apartment we thought it was quite classy with a wonderful garden terrace area to eat or have a
evening meal.
everything was provided for the holiday.the owners were lovely, they stressed onarrival that if we needed anything we should ask.

This is not a hotel but actually an apartment. it was centrally located within walking distance to the spanish steps & public transportation. there were 4 adults in our party and found this an ideal place to stay. the cost was reasonable and the apartment was centrally located. the local shops and markets were wonderful places to shop for a quick breakfast in the morning or a few necessities. the patio was a great place to relax with a glass of wine after a long day of sight seeing. anyone renting this needs to understand that you are renting an apartment not a hotel. there were only fans for ventilation not air conditioning and there were 3 flights of stairs to climb, no elevator. if you are looking for luxury and pampering, stay somewhere else. these issues were not a problem for us and made us feel like locals.enjoyed the experience would definitely stay here again. The room rate was affordable.We were not informed that we would have to pay in cash for our entire stay upon arrival. there was no a/c and it was extremely hot all day and night. the bathroom smelled aweful. the kitchen was greasy type dirty and i didn't want to use it unless i throughly cleaned it. too much furniture for such a small apt.Anonymous

Fantastic locationNo signs for the apartment. took ages to work out where it was. very odd, unattractive decor; including scary pictures in the bedrooms which i had to take down so my children would go to sleep. poorly equipped kithen. also we were woken up early to answer the door to a man demanding that we pay in cash there and then. this required a trip to the bank as we didn't have that much cash. there was something very strange about the whole experience. hard to explain what, but just generally a creepy place to stay; partly due to the enormous lock and bolts on the door which made you feel that there was a serious risk of crime.gretta Hayes
