Roma Termini is an important transport hub and it is named after the district of its location, the nearby Baths of Diocletian, one of the main tourist attractions of this area. All trains bound for Rome will stop at Roma Termini, with the exception of a few very early morning trains which may stop only at Roma Tiburtina. Both metro lines also intersect with the station, providing a fully connected public transport network.
The front entrance of Roma Termini station faces a piazza filled with city buses, offering further transport options. This is useful if you’re heading to Trastevere or to the old city. Trams also run from outside the station to various parts of the city, helping you to reach parts of Rome that are not connected to the rather limited metro system. Though far from the major historical attractions, Termini is a convenient location in which to stay, thanks to its transport options, both within and without the city.
