Rome’s second most important railway station, Tiburtina serves many business travelers. Almost all of the long-distance trains that travel between Florence and Naples, from Rome to Pescara and from Rome to Ancona, use Tiburtina Station as a connection point. The FR1 and FR2 lines also move through this station, as do the TAV trains on the Milan-Naples line.
Tiburtina Station is located in the Eastern zone of Rome, in the Pietralata district. The same complex houses the Tiburtina subway station for Rome’s B line and in the piazzale della stazione Tiburtina, the square where the station is located, you’ll find the end of the line for many important city buses. From this square you can reach the Tiburtino and Casal Bertone districts, as well as the center of the city. In the area around the station you can find the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, the Verano cemetery, and the Basilica of San Lorenzo fuori le mura. After leaving the station, try to visit the Spada Gallery, the Galleria Colonna and the Doria Pamphilj Gallery.
