One of Italy’s ancient hill towns like Montegrotto Terme or Monterotondo, this beautiful village overhangs the Nera River. Nerni has a population of just over twenty thousand residents, and is surrounded by hills, valleys and forests that hide age old caves. It’s interesting to note that, long before the town earned its current name, Narni, it used to go by the name of Nequinum. The area surrounding the town was actually established as far back as the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages.

Something of a mid-sized town, Narni does draw its fair share of travellers. These include Italian Americans coming to visit family in the motherland, as well as general purpose sight seers.
