The province of Trento is located in the northern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige. The province is located on the southern side of the Alps and the prospect of outdoor activities in both the summer and winter attracts thousands of tourists each season. Some of the biggest attractions of the province are the numerous ski resort towns located high up in the mountains. One of the most famous of these ski resorts is found in the locality of Madonna di Campiglio; attractions here include kilometers of trails for alpine skiing, though the area also accommodates tourists in the summer. The incredible beauty of the landscape, that also includes the Dolomitic mountain chain, is enough to draw tourists who simply wish to sit back and admire nature. For those looking for some history, head to the capital city of the province, also called Trento, to admire the Castello del Buonconsiglio, a castle constructed in the 13th century and which today has become the symbol of the city. If you’re in the region of Trentino-Alto Adige for a weekend, Trento may be a fun place to visit.
