Chivasso Hotels and Accommodation
Chivasso is a town in the province of Turin in Italy’s Piedmont region. It is on the left bank of the Po River, about 29 kilometers (18 miles) northeast of the city of Turin. The community dates back to Roman times. It is the birthplace of the 16th century painter Defendente Ferrari. This is an interesting place to make a stop during a tour, or even to spend a weekend. Chivasso would make a great base from which to explore Turin and the rest of the Piedmont. Guests staying in Chivasso hotels can see the local 15th century cathedral, which has beautiful examples of terra-cotta statues. The tower of a 12th century castle can still be seen. Of course, visitors here are within easy reach of Turin, where they can visit the Cappella della Sacra Sindone (home of the Shroud of Turin, which is brough out only on special occasions), and the beautiful Basilica di Superga.
