"Courteous staff, perfect location and for venice in april excellent value"

The hotel La Calcina is situated in Venice, in one of the most picturesque area, near important sites such as the Accademia, the magnificent Canal Grande with its prestigious buildings and the splendid Chiesa dei Gesuati church with the Tiepolo's masterpieces.The property, ancient building, where John Ruskin stayed in 1876, has a vast and incomparable view of the Giudecca canal.The hotel, accurately restored, has maintained the charm of its past and welcomes you in a warm atmosphere.The property is fully air-conditioned and features all the comforts including a bar, a restaurant, two panoramic terraces and an ADSL Internet Point.

Pros: Courteous staff, perfect location and for venice in april excellent value. they were particularly helpful during the volcanic ash episode in offering me the same rate for an additional stay - which in the end i didnt need. but they were happy to keep the room while i went to the airport to check flights.
