Pros: Execellent location. friendly, helpful staff. nice breakfast. clean and tidy. the single room was suitable for a short stay.
Cons: Although the single room (no 30)i stayed in was suitable for me and my needs, it would not be suitable for everyone. it was a small room, probably much smaller than the double rooms, and was up a very small, steep spiral staircase, so would not be at all suitable for large/tall people, or people with disabilities or the edlderly, which i think should be pointed out at the time of booking. it didn't seem to have the same facilities as other rooms, so no mini bar, working hairdryer, tv, or radio, no clock, no safety deposit box. however this may have been reflected in the price i paid for the room.

Pros: The hotel is located centrally and all major places of interest can be located by foot. the staff are very helpful and the breakfast was also good.
Cons: If you are single the room i was given might be a problem if you have an issue with heights and/or closed in spaces. the room was hobbit sized and you had to climb up a narrow winding stairs that you could see through to get to it.

The Locanda Ca' Gottardi hotel, one of Venice's most elegant properties, is situated along one of the city's most famous routes, which connects the Santa Lucia Railway Station to the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is set between Ca'Vendramin Calergi Palace, nowadays the Casinò Municipale (where Richard Wagner died in 1883), and Ca' d'Oro, the most splendid example of gothic architecture in Venice and home to an important collection of art. The fruit of the Costantini family's labour, gondoliers for four generations, Ca' Gottardi occupies the main floor of a 15th-century Venetian palace, formerly known as Ca' Priuli. Its interiors combine modern Italian design with traditional Venetian art. Official Classification of the Provincia di Venezia (administrative authority): Town House Suites 1st Category. Due to the tipology and the level of services offered, Venere.com compares the property to a 3 star Hotel.
