 "Don't get a room on the ground floor!"
In general we had a good stay, as others have said, it's very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location also is very good and yet very quiet at night. The four star qualification may need to be re-assessed for the following reasons:We had a ground floor room, which was a nice size, however, the ceilings were low and the room not very bright as a result. On our second night, there was high water (we could look out the window and see it coming up the street from the Grand Canal) and one of the floor tiles in our room lifted and floated as a result. No water came into the room, but it was a bit disconcerting to have the floor tiles lifting! The tile was back in place in the morning when we woke, but we did wonder what might happen that night. The night staff that we showed it to said that occasionally happened and they'd look into it. Next time I would stay again, but definitely ask for a room on a higher floor.I disliked the fact that a 4-star hotel has to charge €3/hour for internet access and also that there was a €4/person/night charge payable upon checkout that was not mentioned when I booked.

 "Venice Stay - June 2012"
Ca' Favretto was a great location for me and my family. The staff was outstanding, very patient and very accomodating. Nestor assisted us with our luggage up the stairs (no lift, but what would you expect from a 600+ year old building?)The quad room for four was adequate for our needs and the location was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding and the prices for the bar were reasonable. Coming back to the deck on the Grand Canal after several hours of walking was so relaxing. The TV had multiple language stations which was unusual as compared to our stays in Paris and Rome. The ONLY complaints I have is that the mattresses were thin and hard as were the pillows, and the overall room price is high.
