"A Getaway Hotel in Venice"

Venice alone is a getaway, but this hotel is off in it's own little nook. When you arrive, you pull up directly into the hotel's entrance. The hotel offers free boat taxi rides into the city, and the service is top quality. The people are very nice and respectful. There is an amazing beach view from the rooms with oversized windows that open all the way. At night, the moon shines upon the water while you gaze from your oversized room. The complimentary breakfast is also very good. This is a must experience hotel.

"Relatively expensive but worth every single penny, honest! beautiful room,..."

Pros: Relatively expensive but worth every single penny, honest! beautiful room, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic location if you like beaches. faultess breakfast and free water boat. intend to stay longer on my next visit.
Cons: I seem to think the hotel has some sort of arrangement with the glass factory and shop at murano, beware, i felt under uncomfortable pressure to buy from them (expensive objects, i looked at a floor lamp for just over 5000 euros). in the end i just had to get out, it reminded me of the window people who are reluctant to leave your home without a sale, with their best on the day prices...

Pros: The hotel excelsior was exceptional certainly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. the staff were friendly efficient and helpful. the room was wonderful with a view over the beach. the hotel has a grandeur and a very interesting history. the complimentary boat over to venice itself was extremely useful. the lido is a haven away from the crowds in venice and it has an shopping area with a selection of affordable restaurants. some may prefer to stay in venice itself but we enjoyed the peace and tranquility.
Cons: As in all hotels of this calibre the restaurant was very expensive.
