Areas like Monterosso al Mare and Monterotondo may be famous for their wine and vineyards, but in Nepi, you will find mineral springs, bubbling up fresh water which is bottled and sold throughout the country of Italy under the Acqua di Nepi brand name. Other sights include Borgia castle, reconstructed in the fifteenth century, and the Cathedral of Assunta, built in the twelfth century over a former pagan temple. The cathedral was rebuilt in 1831 after an assault by French troops during the Napoleonic Wars.

Because of these sights and the fact that the city is popular for Italian Americans visiting family in the motherland, the city can get a little crowded during the summer and winter months when people are on vacation.
