Ehime Hotels and Accommodation
Ehime Prefecture is one of four prefectures located on the island of Shikoku. Ehime is home to one of Japan’s oldest hot springs – Dogo Onsen, which is in Matsuyama city. This is a great place to sink into the hot waters of the natural spa and cleanse away your stress. Around town you will see many tourists, who come to Matsuyama especially for the hot springs, wearing traditional dress known as Yukata. In Matsuyama, you can also visit the Matsuyama Castle. This temple, dating from the Kamakura period (1192 – 1333) has extensive grounds, a three-tiered pagoda and a temple that is accessed through a cave. If you want a change of pace from temples and hot springs, an interesting place to visit is the Ehime Prefectural Science Museum. The museum here has the world’s biggest planetarium.
