Saitama Hotels and Accommodation
Saitama, on the island of Honshu, is one of the prefectures of Japan. The largest city in this prefecture is also called Saitama. It is actually part of the Greater Tokyo Area, and all Saitama communities are in fact suburbs of Tokyo. For visitors staying in discount hotels in Saitama, this presents an opportunity to explore both the local sites and those of the Japanese capital.
If you have booked your room in a budget hotel in Saitama for December 2 or 3, you can see the annual Chichibu Night Festival. This famous parade of floats is one of the biggest in Japan, and the tradition goes back 300 years. There are many things to see in Saitama before you go on to Tokyo. The Hikawa Jinja is a major Shinto shrine that dates back to 473 B.C. It is in a park that has a zoo, a museum, and many cherry blossom trees. There is also a Railway Museum with over thirty railway cars, railway model dioramas, and railroading artifacts. For Beatles fans and other music lovers, there is the John Lennon Museum. This exhibit was established to preserve the knowledge of Lennon’s life and career. Many of the exhibits were donated by his widow, Yoko Ono. The Minuma is an area of rice paddies and agricultural fields, as well as forests and streams, that covers 1260 hectares of the City of Saitama. This is an excellent place to escape the noise of the city for a while.
