Fantastic

Stay in the historic building called the Ekes Konvents during your visit to Latvia’s capital. The Konventohof is a charming Riga, Latvia hotel well located in the Old Town, a 5 minute walk from St. Peter's Church. This building has a long, rich history, starting its life as the first guest house for travelers on Skārņu Street in 1435, built on the foundations of the castle of The Order of the Brotherhood of Swordsmen. It was expanded at the end of the 16th century by Riga’s burgomaster, Nikolauss Eke, and converted into a sanctuary for the widows of Guild craftsmen. In 2005, experts in Latvian architecture lovingly restored it for use as a small hotel, called the Konventohof. Guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the Raibais Balodis restaurant. The Konventohof is located on Skārņu Street, one of the oldest streets in Riga, which today is home to numerous pubs, shops, museums, and galleries. The hotel is within the Historic Centre of Riga (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), locally called Vecrīga, which is Latvian for Old Riga. The 1209 St. Peter's Church (Sv Petera Baznica), Riga’s oldest church, and St. John’s Church (Svētā Jāņa luterāņu baznīca) are right around the corner. Other attractions around the Town Hall Square (Rātslaukums) include the House of the Blackheads, the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, and the Porcelain Museum. The Konventohof is located approx. 10.5 km/6.5 miles from Riga International Airport.
