Matn (also spelled Metn) is a district in the Mount Lebanon Governorate of Lebanon. It is in the central part of the country, east of Beirut. It is popularly known as the Northern Matn District, and is not to be confused with Southern Matn, which is part of the Baabda District. In the mountain village of MarMoussa you can see the 18th century Maronite monastery, Deir Mar Moussa. The town of Bikfaya is famous for its stone houses with red-tiled roofs.
