Probably among the most spectacular examples of the Baroque monuments that have survived up to this day in Kaunas and even in Lithuania, the Cloister of Pazaislis is without a doubt a place that you should not miss. Set in a location that is near to some of the hotels in Kaunas, the monastery is in the same league of popularity as other attractions in the city like the Ninth Fort, the Kaunas Ghetto, the Town Hall and the Museum of Devils. Comprised of 17th and 18th century buildings, the Cloister of Pazaislis is known to boast of among the most beautiful examples of ecclesiastical architecture bearing the Baroque style in the whole of northern Europe. Featuring a hexagonal design in its exteriors, the facade of the church in the monastery shows very clear traces of Italian Baroque influences that was very much prevalent during its time of construction.
