There are many artists' homes in Kaunas that have been converted into museums that feature the artworks of the artists themselves as well as some other artists. One of these is the house of Juozas Zikaras who is a well-known sculptor in Lithuania. Having been converted into a museum near many accomodations in Kaunas, the artist's house ranks among the attractions in Kaunas that are frequented by art aficionados. These include the M.K. Zikaras, who lived from 1876 to 1966, was the sculptor that came up with the city's Liberty Museum. The artist's workshop that can be found within his house is filled with displays of his original works, drawings, skerches and plaster models. Located on J. Zikaro Street, the Juozas Zikaras House and Museum can be easily reached if your starting point is one of the hotels in Kaunas. However, you can only enter the artist's home by making an appointment beforehand and admission fee is 2 Litas.
