There are a number of interesting museums that you can visit in Klaipeda and one of these is the Castle Museum which is known to be an offshoot of the archaeological excavations that were done in the areas of the Klaipeda Castle. Near some of the accomodations in Klaipeda, the Castle Museum joins the ranks of such other attractions as the Clock Museum, the Nerija National Park, the Sea Museum and the Blacksmith's Museum. Known locally as the Pilies Muziejus, the Castle Museum can be found on Pilies Street. As such, you can easily reach it if you are staying in one of the hotels in Klaipeda. There are two main expositions in the museum and one of these pertains to the military activities that happened at the Curonian Spit, which is just nearby to Klaipeda. The other exposition of the museum had something to do with the history of the Klaipeda Castle and the Town itself starting from the 13th century up to the 17th century.
