Housed in a renovated building from the 19th century, the Clock Museum can be found near to some of the hotels in Klaipeda. First opened in the year 1984, the museum has two kinds of expositions and one of these is the introduction of the development of timepieces and other devices that measured time over the years. These include models, reconstructions as well as originals of water, sand, sun and fire clocks and ancient calendars and mechanical timepieces. There are also displays that portray the dramatic changes of clock faces and forms from the Renaissance era to the modern times. The museum also has exhibits of clocks from different countries.
