While Roman Catholic churches are among the most beautiful religious structures in Lithuania, there are also Orthodox churches that can rival these buildings. One of these is the Orthodox Church of St. Paraskeva, which has been listed as one of the best religious attractions in the city, close to many accomodatons in Vilnius. The other religious structures that many people like to visit in the city include the Vilnius Cathedral, the Church of St. Anne, St. Peter's and St. Paul's Church, St. Catherine's Church and the St. Nicholas' Church.

Initially built during the year 1345, the Orthodox Church of St. Paraskeva underwent major renovation during 1865. It was said to have been erected over a pagan sanctuary that was built to honor the god of beer, Ragutis. Located near to some of the hotels in Vilnius, the church was also said to have been visited by Peter the Great in the year 1705. Hannibal, the great-grandfather of Alexander Pushkin was also believed to have been baptized in the church. For more information, you may enquire at your Vilnius hotel.
