Belgravia in London

One of the most beautiful areas of London is historic Begravia. Be sure to stop by the Grenadier Pub which is hidden on one of the side streets, phone 020-7235-3074 for hours and directions. For shopping, stroll down Elizabeth Street, Ebury Street, or Ecclestone. Probably the most famous place to shop in Belgravia, though, is Harrod's. In 1849, tea merchant Henry Charles Harrod bought out a grocer's shop in Knightsbridge. The food halls fill seven rooms and all of the specialties are gourmet, especially the pastries, which travelers from all over come to taste. The ornate decor is fun, and you just might see a celebrity or two shopping. A word of caution, though, Harrods's has a dress code, so inappropriate attire will result in you being turned away at the door. Also, there are to be no photos taken of the interior. A short distance away is the Governor's Place and Buckingham Palace, so if you start out early, you can see all of the little shops, move onto Harrod's for lunch, and then stop by the Palace for tourist information and the changing of the guard. If you are into people watching, this could be one of your best spent days in London.
