One of the busiest railway stations in the entire country, London Victoria Station operates trains on two different lines that can take visitors to London pretty much anywhere they need to go, near or far. The London Underground system takes visitors by subway to sites in the city on a continuous loop and is frequently used as transportation by locals. The National Rail aspect of the station, however, is used for traveling long distances between cities.
If you plan to visit London Victoria Station and travel on the Underground rail, be sure to take precautions. When the station was built ages ago, the demand for underground rail was not exactly foreseen and as a result, the facility is not made to handle the 80 million passengers per year who travel through its gates. The result is severe overcrowding that can sometimes lead to dangerous situations if it gets out of control.
